Our story

Hey there, I’m Steve.

I grew up in Northern Virginia in a family that owns and operates a traditional lawn care company. After spending my summers cutting lawns and spraying weeds, I learned I wanted to work with nature, not against it. This led me on a journey of conservation work from the swamps of Florida to the cubicles of Washington D.C.

In 2024, I moved to James Island with my (soon to be) wife, Grace, to work on an oyster farm behind Botany Bay. I fell in love with the Lowcountry on Ocella Creek, and I have been searching for ways to protect it ever since. This search has culminated in Biophilic Landscapes. Through ecological landscaping services, my goal is to connect people with the natural world, one home at a time.

When I’m not playing in the dirt, I can be found walking with Grace and our dog, Bodhi, or enjoying ankle-high surf on Folly.
